What on earth are you bringing Mikwut into this for? Look I have nothing against Mikwut, but he certainly is not brilliant by any stretch of the imagination, that is merely your opinion.

This is where you are showing you are going a bit nutty Martin. Mikwut has nothing to do with this discussion and your opinion of him has nothing to do with it either. You are filling up your posts with irrelevant stuff. A good critical thinker wouldn't do that.
May I suggest, Marg, that you consider re-entering grammar school again? I would consider asking Vicki what grade level you should re-enter at, as her expertise is perfectly suited to evaluating the educational needs of children. For it is manifestly obvious that you need a great deal of remedial work on your reading comprehension!

Let's look at the videotape!

In my post Is history scientific?, I wrote: "Having spent more than three decades reading and engaging in intellectually honest philosophical inquiry, I have found epistemology a particularly engrossing, though frequently very challenging, topic. Perhaps some will recall my struggles with mikwut's arguments based on Plantinga's "reformed epistemology". Seldom have I encountered a more profoundly learned -- and also delightfully fiendish and difficult -- philosophical opponent! His brilliance and wit held me in awe and his arguments plunged me into long days and nights of fevered cogitation with almost every new post!"

So, little Margie, let me summarize in the little words you very much appear to have failed to reach beyond yet:

(1): mikwut was brilliant (even though I almost always disagreed with him, to deny that fact -- as you have done, little Margie -- would be quite stupid).

(2): mikwut clearly possessed a very deep grasp of epistemology (sorry for the big word. Should I define it for you?).

(3): I had to struggle to keep on a par with mikwut's very deep grasp of epistemology, but my decades of philosophical study allowed me to do so, even though it wasn't easy.

(4): Broadhurst's credulous faith in anecdotes as history and as science strongly suggests he has an childishly shallow and very superficial grasp of epistemology, but I could be wrong about that.

(5): To determine if Broadhurst's grasp of epistemology is as weak and shallow as it appears to be based on his shocking degree of apparent credulity, I invited Broadhurst to defend his implicit assertion that anecdotes are epistemologically sound history and science.

(6): He has failed to do so yet, but I have no problem giving him more time in which to gather his wits and try to defend his faith in anecdotes as sound history and science.


Do you want me to repeat any of that, Marg? If so, how many times shall I do so, given how many times I've explained my position on Spalding's alleged "Manuscript Found" as an absolutely necessary and incontrovertible component of the BoM that you still have not come anywhere near to grasping?
