Yes there are, in both Iraq and Iran. In the middle east they also grow tomatoes and onions, cucumbers, water melon, peppers, beans and squash. However in Iraq, as of May of 2003 most of the seeds and soil had been ransacked according to news reports. Poultry is (make that was) a big business in those regions too.
