Philosophical question

During Year 8 (the English school year you go into at age 12 and come out age 13) the following question came up in a Religious Education lesson:

"So many people believe in so many different Gods. Does that mean they all live in different worlds?"

I've yet to come up with an answer to that question. Any thoughts?
