I just read that Joseph Smith stopped wearing garments right before his death and told his followers to stop wearing them as well. I have never heard this before and the source for it is less than reliable. Does anybody know about this?

Also, I am interested in learning everything there is to know about the evolution of garments generally. One book that has been recommended is "Mysteries of Godliness: A History of Mormon Temple Worship" by David John Buerger, although I wonder how much information can be contained in a book written by a Mormon who continues to believe. Does anybody have any recommendations for other books on this subject? Internet sites?
