This is that fatefull time. This is where our ways do part. I have had a great stay here and it has been good. I came here very much in doubt still about the existence of that god that so many pray to in this western world. And by clashing with your minds I have been able to find my peace and realise to myself that indeed there is no such thing as god.

Some may see that as unfortunate and I understand, but for me it is a great victory and it has brought me peace. Unfortunately it has also taken my interest in these discussions with it since, now I know that there is no god in my existence the whole discussion has become pointless. I no longer feel the need to battle religion as it has become utterly absurd to me. My mind is clear now and any further discussions have only met with my boredom and disinterest. It is as it is.

I would like to thank a few people in particular, even though all of you have been of influence. I would like to thank AHF for his, sometimes uncontrolled, directness and provocations. And for intelligence and a few right words at the right time I would like to thank Martin. Vicki, I want to thank for her kindness and desire to be open. Also Violet for her kindness and artistry (you really are great at that!!). Thanks rpcman for facilitating us and do mind I'm not leaving because of the new format!

Any of you who'd like to stay in touch by mail and such are welcome to it. I am simply no longer tickled by religious discussion but you as people still have great meaning. So I'd still like to know how you are doing.

So thanks to all of you and enjoy the board. This is my goodbye. The end of Snow.

Snowy Shaw

I'm sorry, though I understand why you are leaving. I will miss you here but know the window is always open for the Renaissance Man. ;-)

Love,
Vicki

Though I have not had a chance to know you, I had looked to reading more of what you had to say. Alas...

I'm glad you found your peace of mind. Though I'd question how you found it. It sounds like you have had your own share of hurts and pain inflicted by (significant people of) X-Religion.
That your pain conflicted with the urge to feel 'something' (loved by a higher something outside yourself?) on a primal level. [Personal side note: it's the pleasure/especially pain confusion inflicted by parents in 'the name of God'. Or the assumptions - fluff and lies - of X church that chases away most people, and turns people away from God. IMNSHO] If I'm right about your past, my condolances. If not, pay the above paragraph no mind. I've personally gone through the 'forced conversion' with my parents, and the the fluff of church members. I too had to find my own peace of mind. No body can ever tell you what you believe. I just hope that you don't always blame God for what you might have had to suffer personally.

Even though I did eventually find God, and an aspect of Jesus, I still lapse into my rages over X-Religion and God, etc. That's when my husband reminds me 'not to blame the horses.'

You came here with the 'need' to prove to yourself that God was a farce. You had already made up you mind, hadn't you? You just needed to arm yourself with arguments that made sense to you, and your pre-choosen position.

Don't take it wrong, I think we all came to this forum with pre-conceived notions, and a need to express and share them. Or to attempt to convert others with the persuasiveness of our 'evidence'. Of course, forced-conversion never really works. Or else JAK would be Christian via Zoe; and Zoe would be an athiest imortal Dominatrix doning a leather teddi and a dunce cap, and a glass studed whip in one hand and a plate of girlscout cookies in the other (if Martin had his way).

Peace always be with you,
Waspi~
